Well Crap.. Literally :)

  • SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESSAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESWe found a really cute lady this week, Neghum!  She is from Lebanon and has 3 kids ages 7,9,and 11 🙂  We just knocked on her door and once we told her who we were she was so excited!!  I LOVE sharing the Gospel so much!
  • I used my super chef skills and made some very green cupcakes for Melodie (our less active friend) It was her 5 year mark from being baptized, and St.Patties day, and her favorite color is green.. It was perfect!:)
  • On Friday, we had a Relief Society/ Young Women’s dinner and activity and it was SO FUN!! We got to paint.. No I am not artsy at all.. but it was still fun:)
  • Found another thing Sister Hird and I have in common.. PEANUT BUTTER M&M’s.. YUP!! You got it:) We are soul mates!!:) We also found out that we are pretty good at yoga and monster dancing!!
  • Not a lot else happened this week.. I did step in some poop at the Aucoin’s house while trying to be sneaky and sneaking into their house.. but other than that, it was a pretty usual week!!

Maple syrup, Maple bacon, Maple Maple Maple..

  • Got to hang out with a General Authority this week, Elder Muers of the Seventy!  He is SO NICE!  He taught us so much and it was really nice to get to learn from him!  He also came to our MLC this week as well and helped us get ideas to help us with our zones!  It was a lot of fun!!  PLUS NBD but we got to watch the Best Two Years with him, WITH A GENERAL AUTHORITY! Pretty cool!

  • Sister Fowler took us to the Sugar Moon Farms this week!! It is the best place ever. It is a farm and they have a ton of maple trees and they make their own maple syrup and all their food is maple flavored. Maple bacon, maple sausage, maple eggs, maple pancakes, maple hot chocolate, maple butter, maple whip cream, maple fudge, maple EVERYTHING! IT IS THE BEST!! I feel like a true Canadian!!:) I think I really am one at heart!!  We left on a maple sugar HIGH!!  Boy oh boy that stuff is like.. fantastic!!  I can’t even begin to tell you!
  • A more stressful week here in Truro than others. We had all of our investigators decide that they don’t want to learn about the church anymore all this week.. haha.. and now we are back to starting with scratch! But we are excited to find some more people to teach about the Gospel:)
  • Spent Sunday night with the Dartmouth sisters and that was a lot of fun! We celebrated P-day eve by staying up late and singing songs and laughing and Sister Richardson, Sister Hird, and I all slept 3 peas in a pod! It was a party! Then on Monday we played a crazy fun game of dodge ball with all the missionaries in the metro. It was a lot of fun!
  • Had the Cole Harbor sisters here on exchanges and that was a lot of fun! They are just the cutest balls of energy and always know how to make me smile  The most rewarding part of being an STL is seeing them just light up and get so excited about missionary work and having the opportunity to help them and guide them and shape them and get to know who they are and who God wants them to become. Heavenly Father does have a separate plan and a different life and goal for each of us, as we come to understand our own paths it really helps us to flourish so much more. I love this Gospel and I am grateful to be a servant of the Lord!  I wish you all a good week!!

And Then There Were Two..

What a fun/ eventful week:
  • For Sister Olsen’s last P-day before she went home we went to visit Lunenburg. It is the cutest little fishing town on the coast of Nova Scotia! It is your typical small church town with lots of tourism.. but it is absolutely ADORABLE! Sister Lofgran dared me to get into a lobster trap.. So I did!! haha! Lots of fun sight seeing with the Cole Harbor Sisters!!
  • The day of transfers we get a call from our lovely AP’s Elder Ostermiller and Elder Larsen and they had run the truck out of gas on the highway.. So we had to go buy 2 gas cans and fill them up to come to their rescue. Elders.. am I right?!?  We told them they could only have their gas if they let us take a picture of them to document the moment!!
  • We only had Sister Buchanan as our companion for about 22 hours and then she ended up having to go back to St.Stephen for the baptism of her investigator there so we sadly only were in a trio for less than a day and we had to give her up.. and then there were 2 🙂
  • So in case you were wondering.. I love my new companion Sister Hird! Fun fact.. We are like the exact same person! Let me share some of our similarities:
1. We both LOVE the movie Frozen
2. Our favorite color is Pink
3. We enjoy anything with sparkles
4. Half-Brained
5. Same unicorn onsie
6. UTAH GIRLS (She is from Sandy)
7. We love Jesus
8. WE BOTH LOVE FROZEN.. in case you didn’t already get that!!
ect. ( The list goes on for a while)
  • We were driving down the road in the dark the other day and this big fluffy cat runs across the road and Sister Hird jumps and yells, “Holy! Thats a freakin small deer!” I was like, “ugh. Sister Hird thats a cat.” haha.. It was so funny! She is so cute!:)
  • We help out at the Food Bank on Fridays and this week we were helping people get their vegetables and the lady at the front desk comes up and is like “okay literally there are more hangovers down here than sober people.. is there a sale at the liquor store or something.” It was so funny!! Then like 10 minutes later she sticks her head out the door again and says, “nope. I looked it up.. No Sale!” We got a kick outta that one!!
  • We were visiting the cutest less active and she told us she needed  new walker and we look around and there are 3 in her front room. We were like.. why do you need a new one and she says,” I put the parking break on and kept trying to walk, I don’t know why, and I flipped over the handle bars. So I am getting a new one.” We were like well.. seems logical I guess haha!
  • Looking forward to another great transfer here in Truro! I am really hoping to help build the kingdom here by helping to strengthen the youth and teach repentance and baptize converts! Missionary work is such a blessing and a great tool in the Lords hand in bringing to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.
  • May God bless you 🙂

  • TRANSFER WEEK: So Sister Olsen has completed all 18 months and is headed home on Friday and I am getting my new companions tomorrow!:)  Sister Hird and Sister Buchanan are my new companions. Sister Buchanan is just temporary because she goes home in 10 days, but Sister Hird is here to stay so we are going to have a lot of fun this transfer! She is from Utah and LOVES DISNEY, so we will get along great!!
  • I got to go to the Doctor this week and apparently I have acquired a bacteria in my esophagus which is the cause for my chest being so tight and hurting all the time! Had to get some tests done in Halifax last week and hoping to hear back soon to see what we can do to fix it! Most likely it will be a antibiotic or something like that!
  • For our lesson with Jackie and Steve this week, We talked about the story in Alma with the titles of liberty, and we made Canadian titles of liberty out of hockey sticks and wrote our own sayings on them. Of course, MINE IS PINK!!  Cause why not!  They also made us “Big Butt Salads” for Sister Olsen’s last supper. Don’t know what that is?  Neither did I!  Pretty much it is just a huge salad with lots of YUMMY stuff on it and then you eat it in big bowls and watch and LDS church movie while you eat it!  It was awesome! 🙂
  • Spent Wednesday through Friday in Dartmouth for Leadership Conference which was a lot of fun. We had lots of training’s and discussion panels to make decisions on how best to help our mission achieve its potential!  We did an exercise one day and we all had our patriarchal blessings and we prayed and read them to know what God’s purpose was for us at this time and it was really powerful!  I would encourage you all to read your blessing often because they truly are the blueprints of our life given by Heavenly Father!
  • It was our branch conference this week so we had the entire stake leadership here. Pretty sure we had more visitors than actual members of the branch here! haha.. We finally got a Branch mission leader cause we haven’t had one for a while so that will be exciting!
  • Met the cutest miniature Hispanic lady on the street yesterday and she just kept saying I love Jesus over and over again then she kept walking away so we just followed her until she finally stopped cause she realized we weren’t going to leave and we taught her a little bit about the Book of Mormon and as soon as we handed it to her she says, “anything for him BYE.” and ran as fast as her little legs would go.  It was so cute!
 Love, Sister Kilmer
